Reports turn saved migration state into a printable record of the translation preview, proposed plan, verification, and timeline. Every previewed migration has its own report, while the workspace-wide summary under Reports requires Agency. The Plan section remains the saved preview plan. Apply recalculates against live destination records; the timeline logs new counts only when the create/update/delete record keys differ, and the report does not replace the Plan section.
Per-migration report#
A migration’s report is available to every workspace member once preview data exists. Open the migration and select Report in the page header. The report route still requires an authenticated membership in that workspace; it is not a public sharing URL.
The printable report contains:
| Section | Included data |
|---|---|
| Header | Zone, source provider, destination provider and workspace identity |
| Status | Migration status plus started, applied and verified timestamps |
| Records | Total record sets and exact, translated, warning/reviewed, unsupported and skipped counts |
| Plan | Saved preview counts of record sets to create, update, delete and leave unchanged |
| Needed attention | Record type and name, warning or unsupported status, and the preview notes for that record |
| Verification | Matched, equivalent-answer and failed counts; destination nameservers and check time |
| Timeline | Up to 500 saved migration event messages in chronological order |
| Footer | Report-generation time and workspace name |
Sections appear only when their source data exists. A report generated immediately after preview has no applied or verified time. If no record needs attention, that section is omitted. Verification appears after an authoritative check has stored a result.
Save or share a report#
Open the migration
In the app, choose the migration whose evidence you need. Confirm that its current preview, plan and verification reflect the work you want to document.
Open Report
Select Report in the migration header. Review Needed attention and Verification before distributing it.
Print or save
Select Print or save as PDF. The print layout removes app controls and formats the report as a document. Choose your browser’s PDF destination to create a file.
Share the exported file
Send the PDF through your approved client or audit channel. Do not send the authenticated app URL as a public link; the recipient would need membership in the workspace.
The report does not include provider credentials. It summarizes record outcomes and shows names and explanatory notes for items needing attention rather than dumping the complete encrypted connection or secret fields.
Workspace report#
The Reports page is an Agency feature. It summarizes migrations created during one of three visible periods: 30 days, 90 days or 1 year. The default is the last 90 days.
Four totals appear at the top:
- Migrations counts migrations created in the selected period.
- Verified counts migrations whose current status is verified or cut over.
- Records moved adds each migration preview’s total record-set count.
- Needed review adds warning and unsupported preview counts.
The table lists Zone, Move, Status, Records, Review and Verified. Select Report on a row to open that migration’s detailed printable report. The page description uses the workspace client label when set, otherwise the workspace name, and the query returns up to the 1,000 most recent migrations in the selected period.
Select Print or save as PDF in the workspace report header to print the summary and table. As with individual reports, this is a browser print operation rather than a server-generated downloadable file.
Access and plan behavior#
All workspace roles can view reports that their plan permits:
| Report | Free | Pro | Agency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual migration report | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Workspace period summary | No | No | Yes |
| Print/save from the browser | Yes, for available reports | Yes, for available reports | Yes |
When a Free or Pro workspace opens Reports, the page shows Client reports are part of the Agency plan. and links to See plans. It also explains that every migration keeps its own printable report.
Upgrading a subscription does not regenerate migration data. The Agency summary reads existing migrations in the workspace, filtered by their creation time, as soon as the Agency entitlement is active.
Read the counts correctly#
“Records moved” is the sum of preview totals, not only record sets proposed for create or update. The detailed Plan line separates the saved preview’s create, update, delete and already-correct counts; it does not prove that a later fresh apply plan was identical.
“Needed review” combines warning and unsupported outcomes. It does not mean all those records were written. Open each detailed report to see the status and notes, and compare it with Previews and record statuses.
A migration counts as Verified in the workspace total when its current status is verified or cut_over. A verification section may contain matched, equivalent and failed checks; inspect the detailed report rather than treating the aggregate label as a substitute for the recorded results.
Use reports for an audit trail#
A report captures migration-specific evidence: preview translation, proposed record counts, compatibility attention, authoritative verification, and the migration timeline. The workspace Activity log captures control-plane actions such as connection changes, apply requests, credential use, and team administration. Keep both when you need the saved plan, verification outcome, and surrounding workflow history; use provider-native logs when exact applied operations are required after a re-plan.
For rollback evidence, generate the report after the rollback completes so the status and timeline include the result. For registrar delegation and DNSSEC, also retain the cutover status and relevant notification deliveries.
